I teach harp lessons online or in person!

Yes, that’s right! If you would like to learn to play the harp but can’t find a teacher in your area, online lessons are the perfect solution. All you need is a webcam and a pretty fast computer with a pretty fast Internet connection. As long as you can position yourself so I can see you and your hands and your harp, we’re good to go!

I also teach lessons in person if you are in the Houston, Texas area. In-person lessons are still the best, but even some of my local students do lessons online sometimes to avoid having to fight Houston’s heat and traffic!

Lessons are available for lever harp, pedal harp, and cross-strung harp. You will learn traditional tunes, classical pieces, hymns (if you like), popular music, etc. Basic music theory is also covered in lessons as well as learning to play from a lead sheet and creating your own arrangements.

I can teach you to play the harp, no matter what your ambition. Whether you want to play just for your own enjoyment, play for your church, or get out there and be a professional, gigging harpist, I can help you with those goals. If you already know how to read music, that’s great! If not, we can start from scratch and have you playing the harp in no time!

I can also help you find a harp to rent or purchase, if needed. (Just please don’t buy cheap harps online!)

I accept students age 10 and up.  I will accept younger students only if they already know how to read music and have had previous success with music lessons. My students currently range in age from 15 to 74, I believe, so age is not an issue. If playing the harp is something you’ve always wanted to do, let’s get started!

Lessons are $50 per hour payable in cash or via Paypal before each lesson or in sets of four.
